If you are a frequent visitor to NYC (I’m not talking about the locals) :-) then you must have been at Pastis. This French Bistro is located in Manhattan’s creative and fashionable neighborhood (the Meatpacking district), and it is one of my favorite places to visit every time I’m there! Their delicious menu is combined with hearty Provençal dishes, tasty house cocktails, cold beer and French wine. Pastis is named after an anise-flavored aperitif from the south of France. The restaurant features a communal table, a zinc bar, and an outdoor summer terrace where I love to sit and have a cold bloody Mary.

Every time I happen to be at Pastis I always witness a different fashion themed photo shoot near by. This time I got lucky again!

As I was seating outside and sipping my chilled Mimosa I watched the photographers and their stylists getting busy with models and working hard on that hot summer afternoon. I believe it was a photo shoot for a fashion magazine, not sure which one… I didn’t feel like disturbing them with my questions :-) Just enjoyed the scene.

By the way, Pastis is one of the restaurants in the Meatpacking district that celebrities love to visit, especially on the weekends. So don’t be surprised next time when you’re there and you see Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston or Marc Jacobs himself having their brunch next to your table. :-)
