Looks like Alexander McQueen has some serious competition when it comes to shoes. Christian Louboutin has always been known for his beautiful statement pumps and their red sole. The designer describes his shoes as “a skyscraper pump that gives you a new attitude instantly”.

The designer’s new creation was recently featured on Good Morning America and this time Louboutin’s inspiration was the ballet and the gracious ballerinas. At first, I was wondering who would wear these shoes? According to the designer it is only the professional dancers who would be able to wear the super thin spike heel.

Louboutin’s inspiration came from his recent visit to the ballet. The designer auctioned these history-making pumps to a charity which benefited The English National Ballet.

So my guess is… Perhaps the potential owner would be the the eternally chic, couture-loving socialite Daphne Guinness?
