The Christmas countdown has already begun. That means – shopping for the gifts, searching for the glamorous outfits, planning parties, vacations and indulging in tasty food and cocktails. I want to start one of my first Christmas posts with a few interesting party rules…
After all, before we start planning something, we have to know how to behave and what to wear! ;)
So, here are the ten funny party rules by the “fashion maniac” Anna Dello Russo the editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan. Anna has gone on record to state that she owns over 4,000 pairs of shoes. This girl must really know and love what she’s doing! Love her :)
Rule #1 Don’t wear RED or GREEN outfits. You will resemble a Christmas tree.
(I love how Gwen looks in this blue dress, try looking for cobalt blue hues, it can replace red or green )
Rule #2 Forget any COATS (also if outside it’s only 5 degrees). You should make a big impact just with your dress.
Rule #3 Choose a GOLD: You will emphasize the idea to be a Christmas gift to be unwrapped.
Rule #4 Go to the hairdresser, facial, manicure and pedicure. Don’t worry to be OVER-DONE!
Rule #5 Choose between HAT and MAKEUP, if you wear a hat keep your face fresh, otherwise you will look like a transvestite.
Rule #6 Wear lots of JEWELRY. The sound of jewelry banish bad thoughts and bad ghosts.
Rule #7 Focus on the SHOES. Generally at Christmas party you spend a lot of time seated on the sofa.
Rule #8 Shoes have to carry all this magical atmosphere: Choose sparkling, shiny, eccentric, metallic, decorative, precious, brocade, extravagant, color-full, magnificent, enchanting… PAIR OF SHOES.
Rule #9 Don’t worry about your BAG, you will immediately forget it on some chairs.
Rule #10 Don’t throw yourself on the buffet, don’t overdo with drinks, It’s not “POLITE!”
For the rule # 4 I’ve picked the latest super-exciting makeup line for MAC by Daphne Guinness. It’s her latest imprint over the legendary cosmetics brand where she features rich in color hues for this winter. It should be in stores by December 26 (in North America) and January worldwide.
As for the SHOES :) I decided to glamorize my post with some pictures from the latest Rizzoli edition of Christian Louboutin shoes. You can find this book online or perhaps order it at Chapters.
“Louboutin’s first book, this monograph highlights the extraordinary range of his couture, from his iconic and glamorous creations to his fetishistic pieces, including his collaborations with David Lynch, meant more for the bedroom than the street. New photography captures Louboutin’s artistic sensibilities, while an in-depth interview reveals Louboutin’s life, travels, and inspirations, presenting a very personal look at the man behind the shoes. ” (Rizzoli NY)
