Have you already decorated your Christmas tree?
I happen to have a few fascinating ideas for you. :) How about decorating it in your favorite designer’s style? Or putting a signature color print on some of your “custom-made” Christmas toys?
Alber Elbaz – the creative director of La Maison Lanvin had created his iconic Christmas tree for Claridge’s in London.
– “Elbaz designed the tree based on his fantasy of the ideal Christmas dream–it’s a whimsical take on a traditional aesthetic. The silk figures surrounding the tree represent the Lanvin family at home having just enjoyed brandy drinks and gifts. All of them, including the hotel’s doorman and maid, are dressed in Lanvin-designed uniforms. Elbaz sits atop tree dressed as a fairy with wings and a wand. It’s the perfect vantage point for the master courtier, naturally.” (www.forbes.com)
If you live in London, or just very, very lucky to be there for the holidays it is certainly worth a visit! The Christmas tree will be at the hotel’s lobby until January 2.
It has become the hotel’s yearly tradition to pick the designer who will decorate their Christmas tree. For the past two years it was the honor of John Galliano. Who will be next?
And for those of us who have different plans for the holidays, and we cannot see the whimsical Christmas tree of Elbaz, Alber prepared a two-minute video clip that shows the creation of the tree and its accompanying marionettes. Watch it below :)
