Today was one of the most exciting days in Montreal’s fashion industry. It was the first day of Montreal Fashion Week (SMM) Semaine de mode de Montréal.
The weather was quiet warm and sunny, it almost felt like spring was just around the corner.
I was thrilled to meet so many stylish people at Le Marché Bonsecours, and to watch the upcoming fall/winter collections presened by Montreal designers: Tavan & Mitto, DUY, Mélissa Nepton and Marie Saint Pierre.
I fell in love with a lot of pieces from Tavan & Mitto. The clean cuts, the feminine silhouettes and the polished perfection. Lots of maxi skirts with the 50′s flare, oversized clutches, tailored capes in mustard and white, fur vests, sheer blouses and long elegant dresses. I especially loved the last look – an asymmetrical knitted sweater paired with the short white voluminous skirt. To me it was the cherry on top of the cake :)
DUY rocked the peplum trend. I loved his collection as well. It was very sensual, yet so elegant. Lots of lace, tailored cuts with flowing asymmetric hems, mini dresses with puffy-shouldered sleeves and skinny pants.
