Purple Opulence – Fall 2012 Trends
“In medieval art, the color purple symbolized the uniting of wisdom (blue) with love (red).
Long time ago, purple was the color of the elite, but this fall/winter 2012 everyone could wear it.” – British Vogue
With the abundance of classic fall colors like black, navy and grey, purple is going to be the prevailing color of this season.
Shades of violet were spotted in almost every upcoming F/W 2012 collections. High fashion brands like Prada, Gucci, Akris, Jill Stuart, Dior, Chanel, Christopher Kane, Alberta Ferretti, Emporio Armani and Roberto Cavalli have featured every shade of purple in prints and patterns.
It was also one of the three popular colors that gave a recognizable look of the 2012 Olympic Games in London! (among orange and pink)
I love every shade of this luxurious color from the murky violet to the softest shades of lavender.
Not only purple looks great in solid hues, this color is very eccentric in prints, imagine the blooming florals in dark and edgy tones of violet or maybe digital geometric mix of different shades of eggplant and amethyst…
